Manx Grand Prix (MGP)

The Manx Grand Prix, often referred to as the MGP, is an annual motorcycle racing event held on the Isle of Man, usually in late August and early September.

The races are conducted on the Snaefell Mountain Course, a 37.73-mile (60.72 km) road-racing circuit that covers a wide range of terrain, including narrow village streets, open country roads, and mountain sections.

First held in 1923, the Manx Grand Prix has become a popular event for amateur racers and motorcycle enthusiasts. The event serves as a stepping stone for amateur racers who aspire to compete in the Isle of Man TT races.

Races and Categories

The MGP features various races for different classes of motorcycles, including Junior, Senior, Lightweight, and Newcomers categories. The Newcomers race is particularly significant as it allows riders new to the Mountain Course to compete in a controlled environment.
